Novices take to the water for Broxbourne Splash & Dash 2025

On Sunday 17 March, 16 of our novices headed to Broxbourne with a mixture of nerves and enthusiasm. Broxbourne Splash & Dash is an institution, where novices race 300m side-by-side sprints in stable boats.

Our four crews were warmly welcomed by the hosting club Broxbourne Rowing Club and there was a spirit of celebration and pride as it was majority of the crew’s first experience racing. Whilst we did not come away with any medals, we all enjoyed chatting and cheering on other novices crews. One highlight was an Otters vs Otters race with a photo finish, with the winner prevailing by a bow ball.
