Our community

At LORC we’re just as active off the water as on it. We have a packed calendar of diverse social events; from museum visits to our glamorous Christmas dinner, and from Pride parades to ice skating.

Some of the highlights of the year are:

Rowcation, our annual cross-squad training camp over a bank holiday weekend. Alongside plenty of rowing we also enjoy some yoga and a themed costume party on the final night.

The club attends Pride in London, Trans+ Pride and UK Black Pride every summer to celebrate our community and stand up for our rights.
Halloqueen, our Halloween night out.
Our Christmas dinner, a festive evning where we celebrate the year, hand out awards and enjoy a meal together.

As well as socials for the whole club, we also hold regular women’s and non-binary socials as well as individual squad socials, ensuring that everyone has a chance to connect both on and off the water.
