Head of the River 2022
Signifying the end of the long, cold, winter season, the Head of the River Race on the championship course in West London is a must in the racing calendar for all clubs. With fierce competition for places given the absence of racing over the last two years, the club was able to have only two crews accepted into the draw: a senior and a mixed senior/novice boat.
Blessed with the sunniest skies and calmest waters that the event has seen in years, both crews performed well, with the first crew completing the course in 22:45 and the second crew coming in only three minutes later.
Well done to both crews, as well as to all rowers who put themselves forward for a place in a crew and trained hard over the winter. Competition between members for seats in a crew is so important and drives everyone to push themselves harder in training at the docks and between sessions, so each of you plays a huge part in the club’s success.
