Docklands Head 2024

On the 10 November our home waters of the Royal Docks played host to Docklands Head, a 2750-metre head race organised by organised by Poplar, Blackwall & District Rowing Club.

Despite the grey sky the conditions could not have been better, with calm water and mild temperatures given the time of year. The Otters fielded an amazing 19 crews, ranging from a single to eights, from our Novice, Intermediate and Senior Squads, which made us more than 10% of the total 174 racing on the day!

Several Otters were racing for the first time and it was a real achievement to pull together and confidently complete the race. The club as a whole saw improved times on last year and altogether this was a strong start to the new head race season.
